Our achievements

Solution F specializes in engine development for manufacturers of niche production vehicles, competition vehicles, and prototypes (hybrids, hydrogen combustion, etc.).

Solution F developed a series engine for a niche Renault vehicle, the Clio Renault Sport, from the first 172 hp version to the latest 2-liter 200 hp engine. We also participated in the homologation process.

Solution F supplied Renault Sport customers with an engine for FR3.5 single-seaters (the final step before Formula 1).
This engine was developed in-house and equipped single-seaters from 2005 to 2012.
During this period, we carried out 200 engine overhauls per year.

Solution F developed a 6-liter, 600 hp version of the Ford V8 for Riley and Scott Europe. With this engine, one of the three cars reached a top speed of 339 km/h between the two chicanes.

Solution F developed and supplied the Stellantis Sport store with all versions of Rally engines: 106 Maxi, 206 Maxi, Saxo kit car, etc. The company developed a factory engine based on a NISSAN V6 4-liter for the official NISSAN Paris Dakar program.

We designed and developed one of the world’s first competition GT cars powered by a hydrogen combustion engine.
The Foenix H2 is the perfect illustration of Solution F’s expertise: a sophisticated GT chassis and expertise in hydrogen combustion engines.
It is equipped with a 6.2L V8 hydrogen internal combustion engine supercharged by a mechanical compressor, developing 450 kW (612 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 700 N.m of torque at 4,500 rpm. Based on a proven classic 4-stroke architecture, this engine features an innovative direct hydrogen injection system that allows hydrogen to be used as fuel. The dihydrogen molecule has a high mass energy density (1 kg of this gas is equivalent to about 3 kg of gasoline), and its combustion generates only water vapor and a small amount of nitrogen oxides.
This technological laboratory foreshadows the GTs and prototypes of tomorrow and proves once again that motorsport can still play its role as a full-scale test bed for the vehicles of the future.
With 40 years of expertise, we have mastered many of the components that make up an aircraft: composite or mechanically welded structures, engines, transmissions, on-board electronics, instrumentation (gyroscopes, pitot tubes, accelerometers, temperature measurements, etc.), and control systems. Our industrial culture also allows us to offer our customers small and medium-sized production runs. Discover our flagship projects in the field of aeronautics.

In 2011, Solution F designed and manufactured the first electric-powered helicopter in collaboration with Pascal Chrétien: hardening of the electric engine, manufacture of the battery pack and BMS, aerodynamic and RDM calculations.
This experience marked a world first: the flight of the first electric-powered helicopter. The aircraft’s flights, authenticated by a bailiff and Guinness World Records, mark a new technological milestone and shed light on current research into electric and hybrid helicopter propulsion.

In 2015, Solution F designed and developed a 50 kW hybrid propulsion system for Airbus Innovation’s E-fan, a small, 100% electric aircraft featuring innovative “ducted fan” propulsion ” (ducted fan) propulsion, available in a hybrid version equipped with a combustion engine capable of recharging the batteries during flight, increasing its range by 150% while maintaining its 100% electric ground approach capabilities. The hybrid E-fan was presented at the Oshkosh Air Show in 2015.

Solution F also developed and refined a 350 kW hybrid propulsion system for Voltaero’s Cassio 1 aircraft, composed of a combustion engine and three electric motors, as well as the hybridization control system. The first flight took place in October 2020.

Since 2017, Solution F has been participating in the Stratobus project, Thales’ stratospheric airship, designing the propulsion pods and propellers with ONERA and conducting a preliminary study of the electric engine/controller assembly.

In 2021, Solution F developed a complete 10 kW electric and hybrid propulsion module for CNIM Air Space for a balloon designed to monitor linear structures.
Solution F meets the specifications of its various customers seeking innovative solutions for decarbonization. Our company designs and integrates powertrains (electric, hybrid, and hydrogen combustion) for heavy vehicles (coaches, trucks, special vehicles, etc.) according to their power requirements and usage constraints (intensive usage cycles).

In 2024, GCK and Keolis signed a partnership agreement to test a hydrogen combustion engine bus. The technical development and conversion of the Iveco Crossway bus is being carried out by GCK Mobility with the support of Solution F. The two subsidiaries of the GCK group are converting the Cursor 9 engine from diesel to hydrogen.
